Preparing for birth together

Approaching the birth can be an anxious time for women and their birth partners – there are many questions and uncertainties about birth, especially when it is a first baby. With second or subsequent babies, there may be a need for reminding, to resolve issues from past births or there may be a new partner. These classes aim to give women confidence in their ability to give birth and their partners, confidence in their capacity to support. YogaBirth teachers offer these classes in different ways – either as a workshop or course of classes – contact your local teacher for her timetable.

Birth Preparation workshop

 

YogaBirth teachers offer regular weekly classes for pregnant women. Our classes include:

  • Process of labour

  • Coping with pain

  • Water birth

  • Massage

  • Breathing and relaxation

  • Use of movement and positions

  • Positive solutions to possible problems

  • Preparing your birth guidelines (AKA ‘birth plan’)

  • The first few days with the baby

You cannot plan your labour, but you can prepare for it.

YogaBirth Partner workshops and courses perfectly complement weekly YogaBirth yoga classes to help prepare you for your birth.
